My journey in the automotive industry began in 1988 when I started as a Vehicle Inspector for the DVSA, formerly known as VOSA. At just 19, I was thrilled to become the youngest MOT tester of my time. After six years of gaining experience testing HGVs, PSVs, and passenger cars at a main dealership, I felt drawn to make a positive impact on the industry. With a strong passion for road safety and exceptional customer service, I decided to take the leap and establish The Test Centre.

Starting with just myself and a single pit, it’s been an incredible journey to build multiple MOT centres, including the UK’s busiest, alongside our successful Training School.

Hi, I’m Elle and MOTs are definitely in my blood! Joining the family business was always a natural step for me, and I was proud to become the youngest female MOT tester at 19. After gaining some testing experience, I moved on to work for our Training School. I’ve always been passionate about encouraging more women to join the industry.

Becoming a mum hasn’t slowed me down. I’ve managed to balance motherhood with continuing to test and support the Training School. Every day is a new adventure, and I love the challenge!

I’ve been part of the Test Centre Training team for several years, witnessing the business evolve from a single classroom and two MOT lanes into a multi-site, cutting-edge training centre.

My greatest satisfaction comes from supporting candidates on their learning journey and building strong industry relationships.

When I’m not at work, I enjoy staying active with running and climbing, cheering on athletes and rugby teams, and spending quality time with family.

With over 30 years of experience in the automotive industry, I've honed my skills working for major dealerships like Peugeot, Mercedes, Volkswagen, and Toyota. I joined the Test Centre Training team.

Since obtaining my MOT tester status in 1997, I've been dedicated to providing exceptional testing services. When I'm not immersed in the world of automotive, I enjoy spending time with my family in Kent and staying active at the gym and attending car and bike shows.

I’ve been working in the garage industry since 1989. I spent many years running a busy independent MOT and service centre before joining the DVSA.

My time at the DVSA involved managing the MOT scheme and overseeing a team of Vehicle Examiners in London. I’ve been part of the Test Centre Training team since 2016 and enjoy the diversity of our candidates, taking great pride in their success.

I joined the company in December 2020 and have had the opportunity to complete many of our training courses. While I’m not a mechanic, I’ve gained a solid understanding of the industry.

My favourite part of the job is attending events. A highlight was working our stand at the Brands Hatch Truck Racing event, meeting new people. When I’m not at work, I love spending time with my partner and our dog, Wensley (named after the cheese!).

I joined the Test Centre Training team over five years ago as part of the marketing team. With a diverse background spanning logistics, finance, IT, and education, I’ve always enjoyed embracing new challenges.

I find it incredibly rewarding to help people discover new career paths or enhance their existing skills. The automotive industry has undergone significant changes during my time here, and I’ve relished working alongside the team to support our community through these developments.
