Frequently Asked Questions

  • All potential MOT Testers have to be qualified to Level 3 or equivalent. Some older qualifications up to level 2 are accepted.

  • Depending on the level of work experience you gained you can declare it as relevant experience, if you do not hold any qualifications, you can complete our Light Vehicle Inspection Technician Course where we will be able to assess your skill level and you can gain an accreditation which is accepted on for the MOT scheme (Car Only).

  • If you can demonstrate an 80/20 split in favour of working in a garage compared to the time at college you can count that towards your overall work experience.

  • All new MOT Testers need to hold a full UK driving license for the vehicles they wish to test.

    No. All you must declare is that you are free from convictions and be of good repute as defined by the DVSA.
