Quality Control

The Test Centre Training Vests

Existing requirements for quality control checks aren’t always appropriate for smaller sites. DVSA is changing how evidence of quality control and management is recorded.

Vehicle Testing Stations (VTSs) now use many different approaches to managing quality  at their sites. For example some Authorised Examiners (AEs) are now using third parties and systems to advise them about and support quality systems.

Your quality system

Your quality system will be tailored to meet the particular circumstances of your VTS, including things like:

  • volumes of tests
  • numbers of testers
  • experience of staff

How you manage quality will vary between VTS, but what is certain is that AEs must carry out their quality management responsibilities accurately. AEs should make conscious effort to record and document all procedures and remedial action undertaken.
